This band is really just one man: Latif Gardez, a chain-smoking, English drunk. His 1991 album "Venus Grove," well liked among people who like chain-smoking English drunks, is full of twangy, dark, Nick Cave-inspired songs that would be better as actual Nick Cave songs. But toward the end of the album he veers off into the moody and drug-hazed "The Dark Archer" and "Babel Towers," and things get a lot more interesting.Mystery Slang "The Dark Archer"
